Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Who do you typically train?
Anyone who is ready for a new challenge! I’ve trained individuals and couples ranging from 15-75 years old with varying fitness levels. Everyone has their own starting point and we will find yours during your first consultation.
How much do I need to know about gyms?
Nothing! We all start somewhere. We can begin with the basics or with heavy deadlifts; I will craft all your workouts to your personal fitness level. I’ll show you how to use every piece of equipment (not all on the first day) so you can feel comfortable using it during our sessions or on your own time. Urban Fitness is open 365/24/7.
What if I have an injury or physical limitations?
That’s okay! I always provide modifications and will only suggest movements and exercises that are right for your body. I want you to be comfortable but challenged. At Urban Fitness, it’s a safe, secure, non-judgemental atmosphere. (Pro tip: I’ve been through surgeries, so I have many suggestions).
How quickly will I see results?
Every person is different! Remember: comparison is the thief of joy. I want you to be your own biggest competitor and I promise to be your trainer, cheerleader, motivator, coach and fitness enthusiast. I always recommend pairing exercise with a protein filled, vitamin-rich diet and drinking plenty of water (hint: 8-12 water bottles per day).
What happens during a training session?
We will work on a different muscle group during each session - from core and upper torso to legs and glutes. I will create your full workout series before you arrive and will keep track of it in your personal notebook. Your session will consist of a series of exercises and the goal is 3 rounds (“sets”) of 12-15 each (“reps”). I’ll always be by your side to ensure you have proper form, answer any questions and share best practices.
